JAKE
JEFFREY, QUARTERBACK, FOLSOM
Jeffrey has
the challenging task of replacing the decorated Jake Browning, but it looks
like Browning’s successor is the next signal caller to put out uncanny numbers
for the Bulldogs’ high-octane offense. Jeffrey threw for 304 yards and five
touchdowns in Folsom’s 54-14 romp of Pleasant Grove (Elk Grove).
CLARENCE
PIERSON, RUNNING BACK, RIVER VALLEY
Pierson ran
for three touchdowns and added one interception for River Valley in its 55-43
shootout victory over Roseville.
RYAN VIERRA,
DEFENSIVE BACK, CENTRAL CATHOLIC (MODESTO)
The 6-foot,
180-pound defensive back had an astonishing 23 solo tackles and one sack for
Central Catholic, as the Raiders knocked off rival St. Mary’s 36-22.
ISAIAH HILLIARD,
RUNNING BACK, SANGER
Playing
against an undefeated Clovis East team, Hilliard sliced his way to 207 yards
and three touchdowns in the Apaches’ 32-15 win over the Timberwolves, placing
Sanger at 3-0.
SHAWNDALE
ROSS, RUNNING BACK, EAST BAKERSFIELD
Ross had a
breakout evening of 25 carries, 263 yards and one touchdown in EB’s 41-21 rout
of Mira Monte.
JOSEPH
MCDANIEL, RUNNING BACK, HANFORD
McDaniel,
while playing in front of a rabid crowd at Claud Hebert Field in Dinuba,
stunned the powerful Emperors with 21 carries, 119 yards and four touchdowns in
the 45-13 trouncing of the Central Section’s Division-II title game runner-up
from last year.
ROMELLO
HARRIS, RUNNING BACK, TULARE UNION
Harris
continues his assault on the TUHS record books and has his sights set on the
state’s all-time leading rushing record, after accumulating 390 yards and four
touchdowns in Tulare’s 49-41 win over Redwood (Visalia).
JAKE
CONSTANTINE, QUARTERBACK, CAMARILLO
Constantine
and the Scorpions were supposed to be due for a tough battle up Highway 101 in
Arroyo Grande. But instead, Constantine continues to prove why he’s one of the
hardest quarterbacks to game plan against in the 805, with 302 total yards
including 246 through the air in the Scorps’ 27-13 upset over the highly-ranked
Eagles.
ANTHONY
CATALANO, QUARTERBACK, CENTENNIAL (CORONA)
Catalano
totaled 396 yards of offense and helped get his head coach Matt Logan to join
the 200-win club, as the Huskies cruised to a 35-14 victory over Orange
Lutheran.
JAVON MCKINLEY,
WIDE RECEIVER, CENTENNIAL (CORONA)
The
highly-prized McKinley caught 10 passes for 210 yards and one touchdown in the
Huskies’ 21-point drubbing of Orange Lutheran.
JAYDEN
DANIELS, QUARTERBACK, CAJON (SAN BERNARDINO)
Only a
freshman, Daniels went 16 of 25 passing for 300 yards and four touchdowns in
the Cowboys’ 42-7 trouncing of Kaiser.
JOSH HOKIT, SAFETY, CLOVIS
Hokit pulverized Atwater with 16 tackles and one fumble recovery in the Cougars' 28-0 road shutout victory.
CURTIS JACKSON, SAFETY, IRVINE
Jackson snatched up 10 tackles and scored twice - once on an interception and one through a receiving touchdown - as Irvine defeated Rim of the World (Lake Arrowhead) 44-24.
